Acromed is participating in an EU-project “SMS” (Sensing marine toxicants in Marine waters make Sense using biosensors) which aims developing a novel automated networked system that will enable realtime in-situ monitoring of marine water chemical and ecological status in coastal areas by the detection of a series of contaminants.
Acromeds task in this project is to develop a robust pre-concentration method in order to enhance the preliminary concentration of the target marine toxicants (sub ng.L-1) for further biosensor analysis. Selection of proper material for sample preparation and pre-concentration method is also among the tasks. Acromed is responsible for the design and development of an automated sampling and pre-concentration device and proof of its principle for the project objectives.
